The 'O' Kost

This project rethinks the typical kost by making it feel less like a row of rented rooms and more like a calm place to come home to.

We kept the façade simple and quiet, using clean lines, grey surfaces, timber screens, and generous openings to bring in light without exposing the rooms too much. The circular window becomes the main gesture: softening the strong box-like form while giving the building a clear identity from the street.

The idea was to balance privacy and openness. The front still feels protected through the solid wall and patterned gate, but the upper floor stays lighter with glass, timber louvers, and shaded openings. Instead of making the kost feel dense or purely functional, we wanted it to feel more personal, comfortable, bright, and easy to live in every day.
